I have been using the Xiaomi mi band 3 for quite a while now to track my heart rate my sleeping pattern and more. The Xiaomi mi band 3 brings a lot of new improvements and changes. The beautiful curved design to the main body and even with the display off, it looks gorgeous.
The only thing I found a little bit difficult to do on the Xiaomi mi Band 3, is to remove the tracker from the band itself. It’s not a problem, but it just feels a little scary to do. I am not sure if it’s the curved glass panel on the tracker or a band that’s tighter than the mi band 2. However, popping it out front to back is easier.
The strap itself is made of silicone, quite flexible and strong, and we found it comfortable to wear all the day. Even when sweating and it looks particularly stylish. You’ve also got the choice of three different colors of Mi Band 3. You can get the strap in orange dark blue and black.
It is water resistant. You can use the Xiaomi mi Band 3 into the shower, as it’s also waterproof to 50 meters. Which is really impressive. So if you are working out or you are using it in the rain or even if you are taking it out for a light swim, it should hold up fine. Overall as far as the design and build are concerned. The mi band 3 is definitely above the upgrade. I mean it looks good, its lightweight and comfortable to wear. Its water resistant, and it’s got a touchscreen.
Talking about the display. it’s a 0.78 inch OLED display and its pretty good. The display here is more brighter also, by a significant margin when compared with the one you’d find on the Mi Band 2.
In terms of fitness features, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 comes with everything that you’d expect from a fitness tracker at this cost. The band can count the number of steps you’ve taken, the distance you have walked, and measure the calories you have consumed.
Here is also sleep tracking and heart rate tracking. Which now has some additional features like the ability to set heart rate measurement to a specific time interval which was missing in the mi band 2. So I set it to 1 minute and here’s how it looks. Do keep in mind that this does drain your battery a lot.
There’s also the sleep data, which again is pretty much the same as it has been. The data is divided into three different regions — deep sleep, light sleeps, and awake. Alongside the majority of that, the application demonstrates of your sleeping pattern, and even makes some suggestions on the best way to form better dozing habits that’ll be helpful.
Other than the fitness features, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 bring some pretty great additional features as well.
There’s a stopwatch in the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, which you can open from the ‘More’ menu inside the Mi Band 3. This can come in extremely helpful, for timing your exercises or runs, as well as in regular circumstances where you may need a stopwatch.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 handles notifications better then Mi Band 2 at any point. In case you’re getting a call, the Mi Band 3 not just shows that a call is incoming. Additionally it will also let you to press and hold then button to dismiss the call.
In case of messages, the Mi Band 3 lets you to see the notifications also. The band supports 5 notifications at a time, and shows 3 pages for each message. Which may seem like its not a lot, however I observed it to be sufficient. You can press and hold the button to clear the notifications from the Mi Band 3.
Now lets talk about battery. While Xiaomi claims a battery life of 20 days with the Xiaomi Mi Band 3. In my own usage, I had set the heart rate measurement to at 1 minute intervals as the day progressed. That clearly drains a considerable amount of battery (and Xiaomi cautioned me about it when I initially empowered it). Yet even with that, the Mi Band 3 lasted an easy 10 days.
So that was a Xiaomi mi band 3 review and needless to say it’s another winner from xiaomi. No doubts about that, but what do you think about the mi band 3 let us know in the comment section below and share it with your friends.
